Beckett's First Haircut!

We finally caved in and decided to cut Beck's hair. He gets called a girl way more often than we'd like, so we finally went for it. He was such a good boy, and sat on Dad's lap while he got his hair cut. I'll let the pictures tell the whole story.

He had some pretty serious curls, and the back was turning into a mullett. When wet, his hair would come several inches down his back. Here are some before shots:

"You're going to do WHAT to my hair?!"

"I'll spray it myself, thank you very much."

"Oh, goldfish? Sure, yeah, go ahead. Do what you must."

"That really wasn't too bad after all!"

He still has plenty of curls, they just don't form a mullet, and his bangs don't hang in his face. No mistaking this handsome little man for a girl anytime soon.

It's always a good day when it ends with a ride on Dad's shoulders.

First zoo trip of the year

A few Sundays ago (ok, like 5) we decided to take Beckett to the zoo. It was a last minute decision, and we had so much fun! Beck has been before, but it was last summer and he didn't really know where he was. This year was much different. He had so much fun looking at all the animals! He would point and make his famous "surprised" face every time he would spot an animal. We will be going back many more times this year!

Home Sweet Home

Well, we've moved. Finally! Our new house is much bigger, and is perfect for our growing family. We've got a lot of work to do, but the first thing we did was get carpet put in most of the upstairs. It was hard wood floor, and we really wanted carpet. I also took down all of the lovely window treatments that the previous owners had up. Look at the difference we've made already:

Living room before and after

Beckett's room before and after:

I had already taken down the lacey curtains in here before I took the "before" picture. Bummer.

New baby's room before and after:

And in this room I still haven't taken down the curtains. They were probably the best in the house, and until we know what baby #2 is going to be, I'm not going to change them.

We decided to save some money and not put the carpet in the master bedroom. The wood floor is in pretty good condition in there, so it's fine the way it was. Lace curtains did come down though.

Next we have to decide where to hang everything in the house. I'll update later after we have more progress!

Yo Gabba Gabba

Most hilarious thing ever. The second Beckett hears the opening music to the show "Yo Gabba Gabba", he stops whatever he's doing, runs right up to the TV, and gets the most hilarous look on his face. The big wide open mouth shocked face. He's making that face a lot these days, but it mostly started with Yo Gabba Gabba. Of course, what kind of mother would I be if I didn't get proof of this hilarity. Picture and video proof. You're welcome.

Easter

Yeah, I know Easter was almost a month ago. Better late than never though, right?

We started out on Saturday morning by giving Beckett his Easter basket. We weren't going to be at home on Easter morning, so we gave it to him early.

He got some new golf clubs, books, trucks and yummy snacks. Happy boy.

Then we went to Olathe, KS to visit my sister and her family for Easter this year. Beckett got to play with his cousin Oliver and participate in his first ever Easter egg hunt! We ate lots of delicious food, and had a great time with the family.

It was hard to keep Beckett on track with the Easter egg hunt. He only needed two eggs - one for each hand - and he was happy. Why would anybody ever need more than two eggs at a time?

Beck then spent the rest of the day playing with all of Bella and Oliver's cool toys. Their wagon was his favorite of the afternoon. We took turns pulling him up and down the driveway. Beckett was having a blast.

The rest of the night was matching pajamas, vacuuming, and more playing.

Easter morning there was another Easter basket from Grandma and Grandpa Sneller, church, and crabby Beckett because it was waaaaay past his nap time.

When we got home on Easter, we went over to Grandma Cheryl's house where Beckett got his third Easter basket of the weekend. Plus all of his goodies from the egg hunt. He was a lucky fellow that weekend! The remainder of the day was spent helping Dad wash his work van. Lots of water and suds were involved. The kid loves water.

All in all, it was a very fun and memorable weekend!

A Spaghetti Story

We had spaghetti for dinner tonight.
When I first got home from work, we all sat around and played for a little bit. Beck was in one of his great moods and was cracking us up.

Then we started cooking our dinner. Beckett likes to be in the kitchen when I am, so he helped himself into the cabinet of pots and pans and "helped" me.

When the spaghetti was ready to go, he dug right in.

Sometimes using his spoon. And by using his spoon, I really mean making an even bigger mess with his spoon, and sometimes putting it in his mouth, no spaghetti attached.

Then he got upset about who knows what. He wouldn't touch anything with his hands, he didn't like being dirty, I guess.

But he got over it quickly. Back to happy.
Notice the spaghetti on his leg. There's even more on the floor.

Then it was bathtime, obviously. Here's a close up of the damage done to his face.

Playtime after the bath. He thinks it's hilarious to shut the door on us.

Well, that's our spaghetti story. It was messy, delicious, and so much fun!
