Happy 10 Months Beckett!

Ok, I'm a day late with this one. There was a bunch of excitement yesterday because our close friends, Blake and Ashley, welcomed their first little baby boy into this world! Congratulations, and welcome Tucker! We went to visit them in the hospital, and I didn't remember to take his monthly picture until he was in bed. Oh well, it's just one day.

Anyways, holy crap. Beckett is 10 months old. He's into the double digits. Two months until he is ONE YEAR OLD. That blows my mind. I love the stage he's at right now. It's so easy to make him laugh, and seeing those little teeth in his smile just melts my heart. He's amazing. Here's the highlights of this past month:

  • He's still a crawling maniac. He's getting really speedy, too. He now pulls up on everything. The couch, his toy chest, me, anything he can get a good grip on, really. He's started cruising on the furniture a bit, too. Just one step closer to walking!
  • He still just has the same four teeth. Two on top and two on bottom. No new ones yet, although he has been a little more crabby and drooly (real word?) lately, so maybe something's creeping up.
  • He's eating all big boy food now, and still getting bottles, too. No more baby purees for him! He hasn't encountered a food he won't eat yet, including dog food. He's tried to eat it twice, and gets super mad when I take it out of his mouth. He'll thank me someday.
  • He sleeps through the night consistently, but is going through a phase (God, I hope it's a phase) where he's waking up early. Like 5am early. I feel lucky if we get to sleep in until 6am. Then there will be days when he blesses us with a 7am wakeup. Those days are good.
His hair is getting longer and thicker, and he's starting to look like a toddler instead of a baby, which is both heartbreaking and exciting at the same time. He likes to walk behind his little push toy, and if I could figure out how to post a video, I would show you proof. As always, I feel so lucky to be his mom. He's full of so much personality, and it just grows everyday. I can't wait to see what he does next! Now here are some pictures!

It was extremely hard to get him to sit still during these. Nearly impossible, actually.

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

We had a busy Thanksgiving day, as we celebrated with both my family and David's family. Beckett enjoyed his first tastes of mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. He lasted pretty long too, making it until 5:45pm with no major breakdowns. He did wake up at 5:30 this morning though, (day after Thanksgiving), so I'm assuming that means he wants to go shopping. So shop we shall!

What's new you ask? Well....nothing.

I've been majorly slacking here. It's just that there's been nothing exciting going on. At all. Beckett's still a maniac crawling all over the place. He does pull up on his feet a lot now, so I guess that's new. Other than that....everything is exactly the same. Oh wait, we took our house off the market for the winter, but how exciting is that, really?

I'm getting super excited to celebrate the holidays this year. I'm so excited to decorate, and to buy stockings that say "Dad", "Mom", and "Beckett". I can't wait to put up lights and the tree, and to start new traditions that are special just to my small family. I already took some Christmas photos of Beck, but of course I can't show those yet. According to my brother, Jer, we have to celebrate Thanksgiving first so Beckett doesn't get confused as to which comes first. Whatever Jer, this 9 month old doesn't care which one comes first. I'll just tell you that they're super cute pictures, but I'll wait until December to show them, I guess.

Well that's about all I've got for now, like I said, we're boring folk these days. Here's a few pics to make up for the lack of excitement in this post.

Last weekend we went down to Lincoln for the Husker game. It was a disappointing loss to Northwestern, but we still had a good time. We tailgated with our friends Heath and Jordan, and were able to see my sister and her husband before the game too. They were there tailgating at a different spot.
