Happy 9 Months Beckett!

Holy smokes. Beckett is 9 months old already. He's changed so much in just the past month. I re-read his 8 month post, and I couldn't believe all the differences.
  • He's crawling like a pro now. He goes everywhere, and fast. He knows that when his clothes come off and he hears the bath water running, that it's bathtime. He crawls his little naked baby butt so fast into the bathroom, and it cracks me up every time.
  • He now has four teeth. Top two and bottom two. I love seeing his little teeth when he grins. It's the best.
  • He eats three solid meals a day, and still has four bottles of formula, too. He's getting more and more "big boy" food now. He eats pancakes, waffles, noodles, bread, fruits and of course puffs and cheerios. He's really good at picking up food and getting it into his mouth now.
  • He sleeps through the night almost every night. Sometimes he'll wake up in the middle of the night, but I'm able to get him back to sleep quickly and without a bottle. Once in a while he'll wake up and just talk for a while, and then go back to sleep. Our crappy sleeper is redeeming himself, finally!
  • He doesn't pull up onto his feet very often, but he's always pulling up onto his knees. There's got to be something he really wants for him to get to his feet. That's just fine with me. I'm not ready for a walker yet!
Beckett loves to crawl around the house and explore every room. He crawls over to the sliding glass door and pulls up on his knees with his hands on the glass and watches the dogs play outside. Yesterday David was outside dealing with a broken branch in the tree and Beckett was at the window the whole time watching him and blowing bubbles on the glass. He also likes to share his meals with Cliffy. Cliff knows that if he waits long enough next to Beckett's high chair, that a little baby hand will be feeding him bread, pancakes or whatever else he happens to be eating. They're both sneaky about it, too. Sometimes I don't catch it until it's too late. They're buds. Beckett likes to ride Cliff like a horse too. He smiles and laughs the whole time.

Our sweet little man still amazes me every day. He's at such a fun stage right now. It's so much fun to make him laugh and I'll do some pretty ridiculous things to accomplish that. I love watching him grow and learn every day. Here are some of the latest pictures of our 9 month old.

Why wait until Christmas?

I've always been bad at waiting until the actual occasion to give the gift. I beg David to open his presents early every time. Beckett's first Christmas will be no different, I can already see. To be fair, he was pushing an ottoman around the room, so I didn't think it was nice to make him wait another two months for a toy that is perfect for him now. We caved and gave him one of his presents early, this just means I have to shop for more now, right? Here's what we got him:

The toy also does this, which is the reason we gave it to him early. We didn't get any good pictures of him using it this way though, he's not the greatest at it yet. He sure loves it though!

Here's an extra picture, just because I have to throw it in somewhere. Can you tell someone *cough David cough* is a camo lover? I bought Beckett's jacket, but it was a completely selfless gift for David after we found out we were having a boy. I could live my whole life without camo, David not so much.

Just one more cow at the pumpkin patch.

We didn't actually see any cows at the Bellevue Pumpkin Patch this weekend, but the lady at the front desk said we needed to take our cow to go see the ones they had. They must've been in hiding though, because we only saw pigs and an ostrich.

Anyways, Beckett had fun at his first pumpkin patch ever. We dressed him up because really, when is he going to ever wear that costume again, besides two hours on Halloween. It was a big hit. We got lots of comments on how cute our cow was, as if we didn't already know :) I think next year will be a little more exciting for Beck, as he will be able to do more of the activities. There wasn't much for an almost 9 month old to do, besides just look around at everything. Memories were made though, and that's all that matters.

Turns out wood chips aren't as delicious as one may think.

In case you didn't know, WE LOVE SWINGING!

When Beckett was a newborn, he wanted nothing to do with his swing. He would scream and scream when we put him in it. I honestly think he slept in it one time. Now that he's a little older, he can't get enough of swings.

When I take him outside with me to let out the dogs, he gets a HUGE grin on his face. I used to think it was because we were going to get the puppies, but I've noticed that he stares down the swing, which is next to the dog kennel. He knows that it's swing time. Even if I hadn't planned on putting him in his swing, I have to after I see the huge smile he gets just looking at it. So we swing, and he smiles and squeals with laughter. It's so much fun for me to just watch him get so excited over something so simple!

Grandma and Grandpa Sneller got an outdoor swing for their house so of course Beck had to test it out. And of course, he loved it.

We also walked to the park this last week to test out those swings, and he loved those, too.

I'm not sure what we're going to do when it gets cold and snowy out. We're going to have to install a swing inside so Beckett can continue to swing all winter. Either that, or dad's going to have to tough the weather and bundle Beckett up really good. I'm sure he'd still love it when it's -30 degrees outside.

Family-filled weekend

My brother came home from Afghanistan this weekend, so we had lots of celebrations with lots of family. Friday night I threw a little shin dig at our house complete with cheeseburgers, vodka punch and a bonfire. A bunch of Jer's friend's came to welcome him home, and Kristen and Jesse and their family came up for the weekend as well.

Then on Sunday, my mom had some family over to see Jer. Beckett got to meet his great-grandma Alda, and see his great-grandpa Russ again. Beck also got to play with his cousin Oliver, who is 3 months old. I can't wait until those two boys are old enough to really play together, I can only imagine the trouble they're going to get into!

Beckett kept trying to give Oliver kisses.

Rockin' dad's hat.

Also, Beckett decided to start crawling this weekend. He's a mad man now crawling as fast as he can towards the nearest electrical wire or dog bone in sight. He's also starting to pull himself up on the furniture, so that's terrifying. I'm so proud to see him doing all this new stuff, but SLOW DOWN, Beckett! Oh and if crawling and pulling himself up wasn't enough new stuff for the weekend, he's also getting another tooth. ANOTHER! That makes three all within the past week or two. My baby is turning into a toddler before my very eyes. Next I know, he'll be asking to borrow the car keys. What happened to my little baby?

Halloween Decoration

Yet another idea I got from Pinterest. We made one for our house, and then similar ones for both of the grandma's. Beckett liked making them, he would giggle every time I would paint the bottom of his foot. It was hard to get the footprints perfectly without smearing them, but we did the best we could.

Another fall inspired photo shoot.

Since I still have this fancy camera of Kelly's, I can't seem to stop the photo shoots with Beckett. He's just the perfect subject, and it's such a beautiful time of year. We went down to visit Grandma Judy and bring her her Halloween present from Beckett (early so she could display it all month) and to take some more pictures with all the fall decorations. So here are more pictures! If you're sick of them, I don't care, I think I'm addicted to this camera.

Sorry for the picture overload, but I can't quit. Once Beckett stops being so cute, and this camera stops being so awesome, then I'll think about quitting. Until then, just bear with me.

Wedding

David's cousin got married this past Sunday, and it was beautiful! It was in an amazing outdoor setting, which we took advantage of to get some good pictures.
Beck was quite the little stud in his dress outfit.

Playing in the fountain after the ceremony.

Squishy cheeks are the best.

Still ready to play after we got home, even though it was waaaay after his bedtime!

Big Ten Debut

Since today is Nebraska's first Big Ten game, we thought a photo shoot was in order. It didn't hurt that my friend Kelly let me borrow her fancy camera for the weekend. It's going to be a photo shoot filled couple of days!
